“I have lived in Johnson SC all my life and am married with three daughters. I have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. My aunt, who has been a social worker for many years, gave me great insight into how much her career has impacted families, as we car-pooled to work every day. Hearing her speak and knowing how dedicated she was, I knew I wanted a similar career that could help families in many ways.
After college, my first position was working in a therapeutic daycare with a wide variety of children. My love for children with special conditions really took hold when I became pregnant and learned that my child would be born with a birth defect called Osteogenesis Imperfecta or “brittle bone disease.”
Unfortunately, our child only lived for just a few hours. This was a devastating time in my life but I know now that God was preparing me for my new career in Early Intervention.”
